AB InBev has announced a new beer brewing initiative that will see all of the brand's Budweiser beer brewed in Canada made with 100% renewable energy. The new sustainability move from the brewing brand comes as part of an agreement with Direct Energy that helps the company move towards its goal of brewing beer with 100% renewable electricity on a global scale by 2025. The beer brewing initiative will be communicated to consumers through a new symbol that can be found on cases of beer made with the eco-friendly energy alternative.

Speaking about the new initiative, Labatt Breweries of Canada VP of Marketing, Todd Allen, said, "Beer is intimately tied to the environment it comes from and brewing our beer relies on a healthy environment. Through this initiative, we can make sure that every watt we use to brew Budweiser helps green Canada’s electricity grid and contributes to our long-term business sustainability."
