Sustainable Liqueur Packaging

Baileys Original Irish Cream is Debuting in Aluminum Bottles

Baileys Original Irish Cream liqueur is making its debut in the UK and Europe in a new packaging option that aims to reduce the overall carbon footprint of the product.

The new packaging consists of an aluminum bottle that weighs in at just 85-grams and is thus five-times lighter in weight than the brand's traditional 800ml glass mode. The aluminum bottle is crafted with four-grams of plastic thread in the neck and 2.5-grams of virgin aluminum in the cap. The bottle is making its debut this month on the Heinemann's loyalty program platform before being launched at Frankfurt, Amsterdam Schiphol and Copenhagen international airports.

Global Brand Director for Baileys Sarah Blake spoke on the new Baileys Original Irish Cream aluminum bottles saying, "As the largest global spirits brand to join the B Corp movement, we are proud to drive our progress in the community with our latest innovation to deliver positive impact. While this is an important milestone for Baileys, we know that there is more we can do. We are already looking forward to the delivery of more initiatives as we journey towards our 2030 commitments.”
