This Aldi recyclable alcohol packaging is being launched by the UK supermarket brand as part of a bid to reduce plastic waste by shifting over to paper-made alternatives. The packaging update will see the brand's private label four-packs of beers and ciders now packaged with paper collars instead of plastic shrink wrap, which can be easily recycled from home through curbside programs. The packaging update will eliminate 95-tonnes of plastic waste each year and comes as part of the brands continued shift towards more sustainable packaging solutions.

Plastics and Packaging Director Luke Emery commented on the Aldi recyclable alcohol packaging saying, "Minimising plastic waste is important to both Aldi and our customers, and we are always looking for ways to adapt our packaging. Moving our beer and cider to card packaging is another step in our fight against unwanted plastic.”
