Amazon Traded Single-Use Plastic Packaging for Recyclable Paper

Amazon is moving away from single-use plastic packaging in the UK by replacing plastic with recyclable paper bags. This transition is the company's latest in a series of measures to optimize packaging for the products customers order most frequently.

As the online retailer ramps up its suitability endeavors, the successful switch to recyclable product packaging will be used across AMazon's Fulfilment Centres in the UK. Cardboard will also be used to replace plastic packaging going forward. The business faced criticism from green groups over the levels of packaging waste produced, which sparked a need for reevaluation and redirection on Amazon's packaging front. Consumers in the UK can now easily recycle their packages, thereby reducing Amazon-related waste.
