Hi-Cone and TerraCycle Launched a Beer Ring Recycling Program

As part of its mission to be a sustainability leader in the packaging space, Hi-Cone -- a supplier of plastic-based multi-packaging systems for beer -- announced its new partnership with specialist recycling company TerraCycle. The two companies teamed up to debut a UK-wide beer ring recycling program in an effort to reduce the amount of plastic waste entering landfills and waterways.
The new system is simple. Consumers collect their beer rings, and once a decent amount of the plastic encasements have been collected, users can print out a free shipping label and attach it to the package. Lastly, users can send the package using one of the provided UPS collection locations. This new program by TerraCycle and Hi-Cone will help to close the loop on ring carriers.
