Beemster Cheese Introduces a 360° Sustainability Approach
Jana Pijak — August 21, 2020Holland-based brand Beemster Cheese recently spoke to Deli Market News about its 360° approach to sustainability, aiming to fuel innovative internal strategies in order to increase consumer loyalty.
The brand's Managing Director, Marcel Vantuyn stated that "sustainability is in Beemster's DNA" and that it's crucial for the brand to help "resolve what works and what doesn’t." This means going beyond farming and cheese production and improving the company's sustainability strategy to help make it the greenest dairy brand in the world.
In addition to improved production and farming practices, the company unveiled its Beemster Bee Corridor, a part of the brand's Beemster Co-op farm community. The Bee Corridor is home to a variety of "native plants and wildflowers that foster important pollinators." Additionally, each farm runs on renewable energy sources and utilizes wind turbine energy and solar panels for power.
