Arla Foods Announced the Launch of Arla Æ.KT in Germany

A new animal welfare and climate-conscious milk brand has emerged in Germany. Stemming from Arla Foods, a popular dairy product brand, Arla Æ.KT seeks to advance industry commitments to environmental sustainability.
For now, Arla Æ.KT's line-up of climate-conscious milk consists of a fresh 3.5% whole milk variety and a fresh 1.5% low-fat milk option. The brand keeps "an eye on the footprint" for both products, calculating that the whole milk clocks in at 1.54 kg of CO2 emissions per liter while the low-fat milk results in 1.32 kg of CO2 per liter. This number encapsulates "all greenhouse gas emissions over the entire product life cycle"—from milk production on the farms to packaging and transportation.
