Climate-Neutral Milks

Neutral describes itself as the first carbon-neutral food brand in the United States and it fights climate change by working with dairies to reduce emissions and then offset any remainders. The colorful cartons state that "This milk fights climate change" and it helps to tackle the emissions generated by the dairy industry, which are significant as a whole.

By working with researchers, Neutral studied every part of the milk production process to see where improvements could be made. By working with three family-owned farms, Neutral seeded pastures with a mix of plants that are rich in tannins, which helps to reduce the production of the greenhouse gas methane.

Like Neutral, brands are creating carbon-neutral food and beverage products that help to bring awareness to the need for low-impact solutions and more cooperation with partners on the supply chain for a more sustainable future.
