Amsterdam-based design studio Woonpioniers creates the Sprout Ruben & Marjolein, which is defined by its sustainable build. It uses natural materials and is built using prefabricated components to result in an open volume that is like a greenhouse structure. This is built as a prototype of the studio's Sprout concept, featuring as many bio-based materials as it can. This is led by the wooden frame structure backed by the hemp insulation system. Additionally, it is based on a modular form with the intention of being adaptable and transportable.

The studio explains the design and the progressive plans for it, stating "We built the house as a prototype, but for actual clients. Therefore it also has highly personalised interiors and a personalised main configuration that puts a twist on our flexible concept. After this and one other ‘prototype', we've developed the detailing of Sprout in such a way that we're able to build more custom projects. We believe Sprout could be the next step towards tiny housing in Europe."
