The new Nike ‘Re-Creation’ program puts sustainable production at the forefront, “locally collect[ing] vintage and deadstock pieces, using them to create new locally designed and manufactured products.” The program’s first release is a collection of fleece hoodies and crewnecks, each uniquely designed with sports motifs from Los Angeles’ most iconic teams.

The manufacturing process includes patchwork techniques, unique dye patterns, graphic prints, and stitching. The collection emphasizes Nike’s passion for collaboration and showcases its team of highly qualified designers. Nike’s Chief Design Officer, John Hoke, commented: “The program exemplifies Nike’s collaborative spirit, bringing together experts in design, retail, supply chain, and sustainability to strategize and learn.”

Nike aims to move further toward sustainability, reducing its carbon footprint and promoting a zero-waste production process.
