Limited-Edition Upcycled Fashion
Looptworks Uses Second-Hand Material to Create Superior Designs
Andrew Robertson — June 19, 2012Taking abandoned excess material and refashioning it into high quality, limited-edition products, Looptworks is recycling the overabundance of textile waste caused by excessive consumer behavior to create a sustainable clothing line.
The start-up company is lead by industry experts who have extensive experience working for companies like Nike, Adidas and Royal Robbins. Directing their knowledge of the fashion industry towards an eco-conscious approach to contemporary couture, Looptworks is revitalizing the way in which modern apparel is manufactured.
One factory can create over 60,000 pounds of textile waste a week, a process that both depletes precious natural resources while filling up the majority of landfill sites. Looptworks uses second hand material in order to create chic new fashion items, all of which are limited edition and tested for shrinkage and durability.
