Eileen Fisher's 'Making Space' Teaches One to Recycle & Repurpose

The fashion industry generates a large amount of waste and often leaves consumers feeling pressured to keep up to date on the latest styles by discarding items that are no longer in style—Eileen Fisher's new 'Making Space' concept shop offers a heightened focus on the environment and aims to teach consumers how to live and consume more sustainably.

As the label has always prided itself on creating simple, timeless clothing styles, its new store emphasizes the store's take-back program that helps to give used garments a new life.

In the spirit of Making Space, the store will provide areas for rotating artists in residence to create and educate store visitors on their unique craft. The first artist who will be taking up residence at the concept shop is Cara Marie Piazza, who works with flower and food waste.
