Curated Secondhand Boutiques

'Curated By Goodwill NYNJ' Helps to Counter Wasteful Fast Fashion

Now more than ever, consumers are actively participating in anti-plastic campaigns and opting to shop at secondhand boutiques to reduce their contributions to the wasteful world of fast fashion. To appeal to the "consciously clothed" consumer and their efforts to play a part in curbing both waste and pollution, Goodwill's sub-brand, Goodwill NYNJ, introduced a new shopping experience.

At the Curated by Goodwill NYNJ boutique in Manhattan, stylists hand-pick clothing and accessories based on popular, of-the-moment styles, highlighting fashionable, affordable and eco-friendly pieces that have already been produced.

The new shopping concept was developed as part of the Re-Imagine Goodwill contest, which involved students from the Jay and Patty Baker School of Business and Technology at SUNY's Fashion Institute of Technology. Goodwill NYNJ is planning to launch its Curated shops within Goodwill stores by the end of 2018.
