Government eBike Rebate Programs

The WSDOT is Working with APTIM, LLC on Rebate Program

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) and APTIM, LLC have launched a new e-bike rebate program aimed at making electric bikes more affordable for residents. Starting in April 2025, the program will provide rebates through point-of-sale discounts on e-bikes and associated safety equipment. The rebates will be either $1,200 or $300, depending on household income compared to the county-area median income. WSDOT expects to distribute a total of 8,500 vouchers, with most going to low-income households.

APTIM, LLC, which has experience delivering e-bike rebate programs in various cities and states, will manage the program's logistics. This includes training local bike shops on how to participate and building a secure online portal for rebate applications and distribution. The $5 million funding for the program was approved in the 2024 supplemental transportation budget. The initiative aims to promote the use of e-bikes, reduce vehicle trips, and support environmental sustainability.
