The Hawai'i Department of Transportation (HDOT) has partnered with Sustainability Partners to open a new electric vehicle charging station at the Aloha Tower Marketplace on O'ahu. This station is the second to be funded through the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program and is a key step in expanding Hawaii’s sustainable transportation infrastructure. The electric vehicle charging station features four 150 kW DC fast chargers and aims to enhance convenience for residents and visitors in a popular area while supporting the state’s goal of achieving a carbon-neutral economy by 2045.

The NEVI program, which is part of the U.S. government's broader effort to accelerate EV adoption and reduce emissions, provides the necessary funding to build a national network of chargers. HDOT’s initiative to create 11 NEVI stations statewide aligns with its commitment to cleaner energy solutions.
