The Philippines Unveils a New Eco-Friendly Tourist Rest Area
Kanesa D — August 8, 2024The Philippines' Department of Tourism (DOT) is enhancing Bicol’s tourism infrastructure with the recent signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the region's first Tourist Rest Area (TRA). This initiative is a part of the region’s efforts to improve visitor amenities and support the growing tourism sector.
The new Tourist Rest Area will be a state-of-the-art service center offering many facilities to maximize visitor comfort and convenience. Key amenities will include modern and clean restrooms, charging stations for electronic devices, a comfortable lounge area, a dedicated lactation room, and an information hub to assist tourists.
To ensure inclusivity for all, the TRA will also be equipped to meet the needs of differently-abled individuals and senior citizens, ensuring accessibility for all visitors.
