Tiny bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash are useful for travelers but the hospitality industry is looking at ways that it can minimize the waste of single-use products in favor of more sustainable alternatives. Hotel Emporium, a direct manufacturer of hotel amenities, created its own range of personal care products called Eco Pods, which are packaged in plastic-free, compostable containers.
The pods are designed to hold a small amount of powdered shampoo, conditioner or body wash, so that water can be added to activate the formulas only when necessary. This solution is as sanitary as ever and helps to eliminate plastic packaging waste in favor of materials like bamboo fiber, sugarcane, wood fiber and soy-based ink.
