'Carrier,' the company that specializes in HVAC and cooling solutions, has teamed up with 'ConMet,' the manufacturer of wheel ends and certain vehicle components. The two companies will work in tandem to develop an electric-power solution to both power and cool refrigerated transport trucks. The amount of unrenewable energy spent each year on cooling solutions is substantial, leading to this space being ripe for innovation.

Carrier has stated that, through this partnership, the companies will "have electric options for customers in trailer, truck and light commercial vehicle refrigeration applications." This is a very quick window of time, which is excellent given the prevalent demand for reducing emissions wherever possible. In addition to these upcoming solutions, Carrier has announced a commitment to helping customers reduce emissions by up to 1 gigaton by 2030.
