Sustainable Food Trucks
This Eco-Friendly Food Truck is Powered by Electricity
Katherine Pendrill — February 5, 2016Greg Alden Steele's eco-friendly food truck serves as a sustainable alternative to other mobile eateries. One of the major problems with food trucks is the pollution that comes from running a diesel engine and a generator all day. Now there is a food truck that provides an clean alternative for eco-conscious consumers.
'Philly Greens' is an eco-friendly food truck made from the chassis of a Polaris Gem utility vehicle. The seven horsepower vehicle has a maximum speed of 25 mph and can travel up to 30 miles on a single charge. Although the truck does use a small gas generator to cook food, the vehicle produces significantly less pollution than a traditional food truck.
Not only is the truck itself sustainable, but Philly Green's also serves seasonal, GMO-free food for eco-conscious consumers.
