Experimental Biomaterial Art Exhibitions

Copenhagen Contemporary Opens the Reset Materials Show

The new Reset Materials exhibition opened up at the Copenhagen Contemporary which imagines what a city created from experimental biomaterials may appear to be. The gallery features a series of architectural fragments that are made from 10 low-carbon materials. Some of these include silicon, straw, earth, cement, and mycelium.

It was led by Swiss curator and architect Chrissie Muhr, selecting 10 collaborations by artists and architects to work with how these materials are used in alternate ways. Muhr explains the exhibition to Dezeen, stating that "The aim was to create one landscape within the space. It's about expanding the material cannon. We're opening it up and showing the complexity of it, that there's not one winning material. We have to embrace this diversity."
