The Otrivin Air Lab Turns Pollution and CO2 into Decor

References: & ecologicstudio

The Otrivin Air Lab has been created by Claudia Pasquero and Marco Poletto of the ecoLogicStudio as an example of how we could reduce pollution and CO2 in a beneficial way.

The exhibition is located in London and features a series of 12 photobioreactors, which are each filled with 10-liters of living photosynthetic microalgae. Each one of the photobioreactors thus absorbs CO2, releases oxygen and produces biomass that's used for crafting bio-rubbers, bioplastics and 3D printing filaments. The materials are then transformed into home decor products that are sustainable and biodegradable.

The Otrivin Air Lab encourages visitors to take part in the harvesting process to help them better understand the process and enhance their sense of connection to the natural production experience.
