Mexican architect Javier Guzmán Cervantes works with his research project known as Ex Soup to create a new exhibition that is showcased at the design gallery Util. He collects urban waste materials to create a dynamic series of furniture designs for the show located in Mexico City. The materials include rebars and cinderblocks that have been collected from construction sites and other waste deposits throughout the city.

It is curated together with Lugar Vivo to craft items such as tables, lighting, day beds, and chairs. Javier Guzmán Cervantes notes "I think these times that we are living in require us to explore new lifestyles and new ways of configuring our domestic interiors, more attuned with the present global economic and environmental reality. This is exactly the spirit of Ex Soup, to take discarded materials and transform them into something beautiful and useful to life in a process that prioritizes energy efficiency and practical thinking."
