Transparent Waste-Filled Chairs

The 'No Waste Chair' by Kees Dekkers Puts Garbage in the Spotlight

The 'No Waste Chair' has been designed by Kees Dekker with Colmar as a seating solution that puts an unexpected aesthetic in the spotlight. The chair is constructed with a plexiglass frame that's recycled and transparent, and features a large cavity on the interior that extends from the base up through the backrest. The chair is fill with waste materials like old clothing, cosmetics, face masks, cans, toys, cigarettes and more to make garbage the focal point.

The 'No Waste Chair' was created with 20 examples, which were all part of the Colmar Again at the Fuorisalone in Milan, Italy. The various chairs will be showcased at exhibitions in the future to further prioritize the conversation surrounding sustainability and environmental awareness.
