Upcycled Sustainable Furniture

Solving global warming takes more than just trees

Swedish design studio Malmö Upcycling Service creates an exhibition that displays a series of furniture that was constructed from solely recycled materials. The sustainable approach brings environmental awareness and features right stools and chairs -- every piece is made using wood, leather, foam, vinyl, and canvas. The exhibition is entitled "You Can't Sit With Us! Unless... you also work towards circular solutions in your business," playing on the popular film 'Mean Girls.'

The studio holds a strong belief that the furniture industry should be more cyclical, and should do so by cutting down materials and recycling waste from previous production purposes to take responsibility. Malmö Upcycling Service tapped eight designers to be involved in the new exhibition, resulting in different design aesthetics. The overall exhibition features blocky, modernistic furniture structures.
