These housewares created by Bentu Design as part of its 'Recycle Series' combine a rustic-looking material with sleek and modern designs.

The home decor was created as a statement on the waste that is produced around the world, in large part because of the "rapid development of the construction industry." As a result, this waste contributes to pollution, damage to humans and animals as well as excessive waste. These housewares are all made from two prominent construction materials -- concrete and stone -- and those materials were collected from construction waste sites. The result is a collection that combines design elements both natural and modern to form beautiful home decor.

By re-purposing waste into a functional item, Bentu Design manages to make a fashionable statement about recycling.
