We know the problem

Industrial and post-consumer materials are highly wasteful and definitely go against the sustainability-focused mandate of the contemporary world. Many brands are attempting to counter this by repurposing those materials through product infusion. A great example is Granby Workshop who collects waste before it is sent to landfills and reuses it in its dishware collections.

Common post-consumer materials that are useful for the company’s operations include “industrial clay wastes from a range of producers, “ crushed glass, as well as “dust from slate, granite, and marble quarrying,” magnesium-rich refractory bricks, and more. These resources are then mixed and molded to serve as the body of Granby Workshop’s dishware, as well as the glazes that give the objects an aesthetic kick. The company’s new collection of dishware was funded on Kickstarter.
