Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America has made a significant leap toward sustainable logistics by deploying 21 XCIENT hydrogen fuel-cell electric trucks in partnership with Glovis America. This initiative highlights Hyundai’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions in logistics operations in order to better align with broader environmental stewardship goals. These heavy-duty trucks will facilitate the transport of vehicle components across the region, initially connecting suppliers to the Consolidation Center at the Georgia-based Metaplant, and later integrating with a broader logistics network.

The deployment of the XCIENT hydrogen fuel-cell electric trucks represents over one-third of Glovis America’s fleet at Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America. The project is a flagship initiative under Hyundai’s HTWO brand, which promotes a closed-loop hydrogen logistics ecosystem encompassing production, storage, and utilization.
