'DURAFIDE rG-PPS,' a 40% glass-reinforced polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), is set to launch in December 2025 as part of Polyplastics’ mechanical recycling strategy. The initiative aims to support 100% circularity in engineering plastics by repurposing post-industrial PPS scrap into high-quality recycled materials. Customers will contribute PPS waste through an open post-industrial recycling (PIR) system, ensuring waste reduction and a lower carbon footprint.

The recycling process involves strict acceptance inspections, metal removal, and re-compounding with virgin materials to maintain performance standards. Polyplastics will initially supply the 40% glass-filled grade to customers in Japan and later expand its offerings with higher-filled grades. By working with customers and the recycling industry, the company is establishing a robust supply chain for sustainable material production.

Looking ahead, Polyplastics plans to implement a 'local production for local consumption' recycling model, enhancing regional sustainability efforts. This initiative underscores the company’s commitment to reducing plastic waste while maintaining the durability and reliability of engineering plastics.
