Toyobo and 11 Brands Launch the R Plus Japan Initiative
Jana Pijak — August 20, 2020Toyobo Co., Ltd. has joined forces with 11 other Japan-based brands to launch R Plus Japan, an initiative that aims to change plastic recycling practices in an effort to reduce overall plastic waste and pollution. Toyobo is a tech manufacturer specializing in innovative solutions across healthcare, automotive, lifestyle and safety and electronics and information display sectors.
The company's new initiative is described as "a plastic value chain" and will "facilitate the recycling of used plastics to help solve plastics-associated problems and create a more sustainable society. The other brands involved in this sustainable initiative include Suntory MONOZUKURI Expert Ltd.; Rengo Co., Ltd.; and Asahi Group Holdings Ltd. among others, with each participant seeking to tackle plastic recycling collaboratively and on a larger scale that goes beyond their specific organization.
