Large-Sized Recyclable Containers

SK chemicals has introduced 'ECOTRIA CLARO 300,' a new addition to its Sustainable Packaging Solution (SPS) line. Announced by CEO Ahn Jae-hyun, this material is designed to be both recyclable and versatile for molding. Specifically, ECOTRIA CLARO 300 combines "the transparency and durability of a regular copolyester with the added benefit of recyclability."

Moreover, the material is particularly suited for producing large containers using a process called 'Extrusion Blow Molding' (EBM). In this process, plastic is heated and shaped by blowing air into it, however, the ECOTRIA CLARO 300 maintains its shape under high temperatures, making it ideal for this method. By introducing this product, SK chemicals aims "to meet the increasing demand for recyclable, transparent packaging, especially in markets for large water bottles, juices, and beverages."

Likewise, making large containers recyclable is crucial because they significantly contribute to plastic waste due to their widespread use in industries like beverages and household products.
