Zero Waste Week focuses on reducing landfill waste and for this annual campaign, Merrell created the Scrap shoe collection. This limited run of footwear was partially created from excess materials from the production line, effectively breathing new life into materials that might have otherwise gone to waste. As such, each Scrap style has a colorful, quilt-like aesthetic that celebrates the beauty of different materials coming together to form something entirely functional and new. "The Scrap line's signature feature is the computerized grid stitch to trap all the normally unusable scrap pieces, leading to a unique aesthetic across the collection," said Ian Cobb, Senior Design Director at Merrell.

Styles in the Scrap footwear collection include the Jungle Moc, Moab 3 and Moab Speed, each of which sports a completely one-of-a-kind pattern.
