Environmental Education Initiatives

Fibre Circle x GWF (Good Work Foundation) have launched a partnership to promote environmental education, equipping students with recycling knowledge and sustainability practices. The initiative is introduced at GWF’s Hazyview Campus and integrates environmental awareness into digital education programs, encouraging responsible waste management. The collaboration expands Fibre Circle’s Zithande Mzansi programme, which has already impacted schools across South Africa, fostering environmental responsibility among young learners.

To support the initiative, Fibre Circle donated 35 waste bins, bulk bags, and waste picker tongs for use across multiple campuses. The launch event featured speeches from Fibre Circle CEO Edith Leeuta and GWF CEO Kate Groch, both emphasizing the importance of sustainability in education. Students from Tfholinhlanhla Primary School engaged in an interactive recycling session, reinforcing the role of community involvement in environmental preservation.

This partnership aims to create a new generation of environmental stewards by integrating recycling education into school curriculums. With plans for expansion, Fibre Circle and GWF are working toward a greener, more sustainable future.
