Eco-Minded Library Initiatives

Westmorland and Furness Libraries Debut the Go Green Collection

A new collection of books promoting eco-friendly practices will soon be launched in local libraries as part of a Westmorland and Furness Libraries initiative in Cumbria. Named the Go Green collection, this curated selection aligns with the council's broader objective of addressing community climate change and biodiversity challenges.

The collection includes climate change, renewable energy, sustainable lifestyles, and nature conservation. The council hopes this initiative will empower community members to adopt sustainable living practices, fostering a culture of environmental awareness and responsibility.

Beginning Monday, physical copies of the Go Green collection will be available in libraries, while eBooks will be accessible through the Borrowbox app. In addition to the book collection, the libraries plan to establish sustainability hubs designed to facilitate community engagement and collaboration on addressing climate-related issues.
