In an effort to push creators towards more environmentally friendly practices, Kickstarter is launching 'Environmental Commitments' to help creators committed to protecting the environment. To ensure it is doing its best to push environmental concerns, Kickstarter is partnering with the Environmental Defense Fund, and introducing an Environmental Resource Center. The resource center will serve as a hub to creators and will present case studies and examples of ecological practices and tips from industry pros.

Separated into five areas, the 'Environmental Commitments' pages cover long-lasting design, re-usability and recyclability, sustainable materials, environmentally friendly factories, and sustainable fulfillment and distribution. On the page, Kickstarter will ask creators how they plan to address each category and the answers will appear on the project profiles.
