'Little Yellow Bird' Is Seeking Sustainable Cotton Options

'Little Yellow Bird,' the New Zealand-based clothing company, has gathered an array of sustainably-motivated organizations to form what it has named the 'Circular Cotton Collective.' This group of entities, which range from small businesses to larger research-focused institutions, is attempting to close the loop on cotton clothing production.

Currently, the Circular Cotton Collective is adopting Little Yellow Bird's recycled clothing practices. This means that consumers can bag their unwanted clothing and send it in to the organization to have the materials repurposed into other clothing. On top of this, members of the Circular Cotton Collective can pool byproducts of clothing production to repurpose these materials instead of discarding them.

On top of these recycling initiatives, the Circular Cotton Collective is also researching fiber-recycling technology and looking to open more local recycling plants. This collective will benefit many companies that cannot afford to begin recycling initiatives on their own.
