Circular Denim Collections
Primark & The Jeans Redesign Created New Jeans from Recycled Materials
Laura McQuarrie — November 3, 2021Fast fashion retailer Primark teamed up with The Jeans Redesign project developed by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Make Fashion Circular initiative to create a circular denim collection. Designed to support a more sustainable future and a circular fashion economy, the collection features denim styles made from sources like 70% organic cotton, 29% recycled fibres and 1% elastine, and jackets from 80% organic cotton and 20% recycled cotton.
The styles for men, women and kids are not only made from safely recycled materials, they are designed to be easily recycled as well. Thanks to designs that are free from rivets, the denim collection has labels that instruct consumers how to remove the buttons and zippers before recycling the garments at the end of their usable life.
