The Green Seal Program (Programa Selo Verde Brasil) was launched by Brazil in June 2024 to standardize and certify sustainable products and services. Coordinated by the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce, and Services (MDIC), the program aims to improve the quality of Brazilian products, increase sustainability across production chains, and foster innovation. The Green Seal is a voluntary certification granted to products meeting strict socio-environmental criteria defined by the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT). This initiative supports Brazil's transition to a green economy and enhances the competitiveness of Brazilian products in global markets.

The certification process involves a comprehensive evaluation of a product's lifecycle, including raw material sourcing, production methods, energy consumption, waste management, and social impacts. By promoting sustainable practices, the Green Seal Program helps reduce the environmental footprint of production processes, contributing to the preservation of natural resources and mitigation of climate change impacts. The program also aims to stimulate the growth of the green economy, encourage domestic companies to adopt sustainable practices, and create new job opportunities in the green sector.
