Carbon Offset Afforestation Efforts

Stoke Manufacturer Invests in a New Green Program in Nicaragua

Recently, Stork-on-Trend manufacturer Mantec Technical Ceramics announced three of its energy-saving range are now classified as "carbon neutral" by ClimatePartner. With the ClimatePartner label on Mantec's products, ClimatePartner certifies that the carbon footprint of the product has been calculated in accordance with internationally accepted standards and that it has been 100% offset by the support of global climate action products.

To accomplish this, Mantec invested in an afforestation program throughout Rio Kama (located in eastern Nicaragua) that, to date, has planted a million bamboo clusters. Carbon offsets, such as those created by Mantec, are assigned unique ID numbers. Moreover, Mantec will include links on Ultralite packaging so that users can learn more about the emissions associated with its products as well as any carbon offsetting projects it is involved in.

“To the best of my knowledge, we are the first UK precision ceramics/refractories manufacturer to attain Carbon Neutral certification. This process improves our own environmental impact, while at the same time contributing to similar efforts being made by our customers," stated Sales director Mark Berrisford.
