Port International Offers a Variety of Zero-Carbon Fruits and Vegetables

Port International, a family-run fruit and vegetable trading company based near the Port of Hamburg, has been offering carbon-neutral products under the BE CLIMATE brand for several years. The company first introduced carbon-neutral strawberries in 2017 and has since expanded the range to include bananas, blueberries, leaf clementines, and green asparagus.

Port International works with ClimatePartner to calculate the carbon footprint of its products and offset the emissions through support for two carbon offset projects: a project for clean drinking water in Cambodia and a forest conservation project in Peru. Consumers can identify and track the carbon offset of carbon-neutral products through a label and QR code in retail stores. Port International plans to extend its carbon-neutral premium brand to all areas of its product range in the future.
