Carbon-Negative Fibre Materials
'Lingrove' Uses 'Ekoa' Materials in its Product Development
Colin Smith — February 5, 2024Lingrove is a company that aims to reinvent and decarbonize the building materials market with its innovative product, Ekoa. Ekoa was originally developed by Blackbird and Entropy Resins, however, the one member from each of these companies split off to form Lingrove. Ekoa is a natural, durable, and carbon-negative alternative to conventional materials such as plastics, metals, and wood. Ekoa is made from fast-growing plant fibers, such as flax, and natural resins, using patented technology that transforms them into surfaces and panels for the built environment and beyond.
Ekoa has many advantages over traditional materials, such as high strength, lightweight, nontoxicity, and aesthetic appeal. Ekoa can also sequester billions of tons of CO2 per year by replacing materials that emit greenhouse gases during their production and disposal. Ekoa is currently used in various applications, such as wall and cabinetry, furniture, musical instruments, and automotive parts. Lingrove’s vision is to make interiors healthy, beautiful, and climate-friendly with Ekoa, a plant-based material that is good for people and the planet.
