Renewable Energy Purchase Agreements

Abastible Entered into an Agreement with Zelestra

Abastible, a Chilean energy company, has entered into a long-term renewable energy power purchase agreement (PPA) with Zelestra, a global renewable energy developer. The agreement involves a hybrid energy solution that includes a 220 MWdc solar photovoltaic (PV) plant and a 1 GWh battery energy storage system, located in the Tarapacá region of Chile. This project is designed to provide a consistent supply of renewable energy, including nighttime power, to support Abastible's operations and expand its carbon-free energy portfolio. The hybrid plant is expected to generate approximately 600 GWh of renewable electricity annually, equivalent to the energy consumption of 200,000 Chilean households, contributing significantly to the country's decarbonization efforts.

This partnership underscores Abastible's commitment to advancing sustainability and aligns with Zelestra's expertise in delivering tailored renewable energy solutions. The project, which has already commenced construction, represents a milestone in Chile's energy transition by integrating solar generation with battery storage to address energy reliability challenges. Both companies aim to leverage this collaboration to support Chile's broader renewable energy goals while enhancing their roles in the global shift toward sustainable energy systems. Through this agreement, Abastible and Zelestra demonstrate a shared vision for innovation and environmental responsibility in the energy sector.
