Masdar has acquired "70% of the shares in TERNA ENERGY, becoming the majority shareholder of the Greek clean energy company." Following this transaction, Masdar will seek regulatory approval to make a cash offer for the remaining shares.

This acquisition will help drive the energy transition in Greece and Eastern Europe by supporting TERNA ENERGY’s goals. Masdar's investment brings long-term capital and global expertise to accelerate the development of clean energy projects in the region, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and contributing to the global effort to combat climate change.

The acquisition aligns with Masdar’s broader environmental objectives, as it "aims to expand its renewable energy capacity in Europe to 100 GW by 2030." Moreover, this expansion will play a critical role in advancing sustainable energy solutions, promoting eco-friendly development, and supporting a greener future in the region.
