HEXA Renewables Opens Its Solar Power Plant in Taiwan
Kalin Ned — November 5, 2024HEXA Renewables has successfully launched the world's largest offshore floating solar power plant in Changhua County, Taiwan. This is considered to be a significant milestone in renewable energy development.
This expansive project spans 347 hectares and achieves a total generation capacity of 373 MWac. The floating solar power plant is pivotal for Taiwan's energy strategy, aligning with the nation's ambitious goals to achieve 20 GW of renewable energy by 2025 and net-zero emissions by 2050. The facility is projected to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 136,000 tons annually and provide renewable energy to around 74,000 households. This initiative highlights the potential of public-private partnerships in advancing clean energy solutions and reinforces Taiwan's role as an innovator in floating solar technology.
