The Trashpresso Movable Recycling Plant Turns Trash Into Flooring Tiles

References: springwise & miniwiz

This portable recycling plant turns plastic into tiles that can be used both inside and outside. Created by Taiwanese design company Miniwiz, the Trashpresso uses solar power to upcycle the plastic. Described as "the world's first mobile plastics and fabrics waste recycling plant," the machine brings industrial level recycling to isolated communities.

The automated and self-powered recycling plant is on a 40 foot platform that can be moved with a trailer truck. The Trashpresso plant uses solar power to help even the most remote areas better manage their waste, including plastic and fabric. After local garbage is collected, it is washed, shredded, melted and then molded into architectural floor tiles. The output could also be sold as raw material and used for other upcycling purposes.
