This wave-resistant solar platform has been created by the Huaneng Group as a floating oceanic energy solution that would provide administrators with a way to safely and effectively harness power on the surface of the ocean.

The hexagonal floating platform is referred to as the Yellow Sea No. 1 and will be added to a wind farm operation in the souther Shandong Peninsula. The test rig features a total of 1,624-square-meters of upper surface area where 434 photovoltaic panels will text out three different technologies and provide access to four capacities. The platform stands at 29.5-feet tall on 64 buoys mounted onto the lower structure and is secured with cables to the seabed, which combine to help the system withstand waves up to 10-meters. The wave-resistant solar platform will run for a year after being installed as part of the test.
