The YY Nation Nimbo is the newest sustainable shoe style to join the Legacy Footwear collection and it's touted as "the lowest carbon footprint sneaker in the world.” The shoe is made from earth-friendly materials like bamboo and algae and it boasts a carbon footprint of just 5.45 kilograms CO2e—according to YY Nation, this low-impact sneaker has three times fewer carbon emissions than typical sneakers.
YY Nation's Legacy Footwear collection has footwear styles with carbon footprints that ranges from 5.45 kilograms CO2 to 8.15 kilograms CO2, and Nimbo now represents the lowest option available. YY Nation shoes are Zero Carbon Certified and YY Nation founding director Jeremy Bank says, “While we’re off to a good start, good is not enough. These are the worst shoes we’ll ever make in terms of carbon footprint but are a leading sustainable option."
