The Puma Re:Suede debuted in 2021 and following a two-year biodegradable and composting pilot program, Puma is releasing a commercial version of the sustainable footwear design. As part of the multi-year pilot project, which concluded at the end of 2023, Puma proved that Re:Suede can turn into compost with tailor-made industrial conditions. Now, Re:Suede 2.0 is coming to market, representing an important evolution in eco-friendly footwear production and end-of-life solutions. 500 pairs of Re:Suede 2.0 are up for sale and once they're worn out, customers can return them to Puma free. After their usable life, the sneakers will be sent to Puma's partners to undergo a special industrial composting process. In exchange for their efforts, customers will get a 20% discount on their next purchase.
