Wash-Away Product Labels

Wausau Coated Products Launched the 'WA-769' Dissolvable Adhesive

Wausau Coated Products has introduced 'WA-769,' a new wash-away adhesive solution designed to address the growing demand for eco-friendly packaging options. WA-769 is an emulsion acrylic permanent adhesive that exhibits strong initial tack and reliable adhesion to a variety of surfaces. It is particularly effective on dry glass and non-porous surfaces, making it an ideal choice for labeling applications where bottles are returned and reused.

The adhesive’s wash-away properties are activated in warm water, with a minimum temperature of 110°F, for at least three minutes. The removability of the adhesive is influenced by factors such as the substrate, water temperature, additives, and dwell time. WA-769 is offered on two popular roll label facestocks: 70# Bright White Felt with 30% post-consumer waste (PCW) and Wet Strength (WS), and 60# Estate Label® #8 Vellum with WS.

Wausau Coated Products has not publicly disclosed specific figures for WA-769, as it typically works with bulk deals and retail partnerships. However, the adhesive is available on the aforementioned facestocks, which are among the company’s most popular offerings. These products are particularly suited for facilities that prioritize the reuse of glass packaging. The combination of wash-away adhesive properties and wet strength ensures that labels remain intact even when immersed in ice buckets. For detailed pricing, potential customers are encouraged to contact Wausau Coated Products directly. The company’s distribution network spans the USA, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, New Zealand, and Australia, ensuring broad availability for this innovative adhesive solution.
