The vast amount of plastic that is used everyday and that ends up in the environment has reached new highs which is seeing designers and innovators alike coming up with alternatives, which is exactly what's at work with the 'Notpla' packaging from Superunion.

The packaging looks and performs like plastic, but is not plastic at all with a seaweed-based formula that will disintegrate within four to six-weeks after being used. The packaging is observed here in a sachet-style pouch, but can also be used as a liner for packaging to containers from becoming soggy without the need for plastic.

The 'Notpla' packaging from Superunion breaks down after use into a harmless substance that is free from microplastics, doesn't need to be recycled and is compostable from home.
