This Notpla packaging is positioned as the first and only plastic-free packaging solution in the Netherlands that's officially recognized under the single-use plastics directive in Europe.

The packaging maintains a seaweed-based profile that's resistant to grease and moisture to make it well-suited for food boxes, while also not requiring any chemical modification. The packaging is reported to be suitable for recycling through curbside paper recycling streams or even composted thanks to its eco-friendly composition and profile. The company has announced a partnership with Conpax to help distribute the packaging through the Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg (Benelux) areas.
